This Privacy Policy explains how Manyowa Nong ("MobifyTracker", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the MobifyTracker mobile app and related services (the "App"). We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.
MobifyTracker is a fleet-management service for taxi and vehicle owners and operators. The App lets an account holder view their vehicles on a live map, review trip history, set operating hours and geofences, receive alerts, remotely immobilise a vehicle, and settle outstanding balances.
Account information you provide: name, email address, phone number, and login credentials (passwords are never stored in readable form).
Fleet and vehicle (telematics) information: vehicle details linked to your account (registration, make/model, tracker identifiers), and vehicle location, speed, heading and movement history reported by the GPS device fitted to each vehicle, plus trip records, operating hours, geofence settings and immobiliser status. This vehicle data is generated by hardware trackers fitted to your vehicles and associated with your fleet account — the App does not collect the location of your phone.
Device and notification information: a push-notification token used to deliver alerts, and basic technical information needed to operate the App.
Payments: when you settle arrears, payment is completed on an external, secure payment or debit-order page opened in your browser. We do not collect or store your card or bank-card details inside the App.
App usage and crash diagnostics: we use PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting) to understand how the App is used and to diagnose faults. PostHog records which screens you open and which controls you tap, and — once you are signed in — links that activity to your account id and name. Sentry records crash and error diagnostics; no personal details are attached to them. We do not record your screen, and we do not use this data for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Your mobile number and ID number are never sent to either service.
What we do NOT collect: we do not collect your phone's location, we do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Legal basis (POPIA): to perform our contract with you, with your consent where required, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and to comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives protection consistent with POPIA.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Vehicle movement history is retained for the period needed to provide trip-history and reporting features, after which it may be aggregated or deleted.
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure credential storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and the Information Regulator of any material breach as required by POPIA.
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. The App is intended for vehicle/fleet owners and operators and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The App may open external pages (for example, payment or mandate pages). Those pages are governed by the privacy policies of the respective providers, not this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are material, notify you in the App or by other reasonable means.
